Cupping is known to have been in use even more than 3000 years before the beginning of our era. Cupping was practiced in, for example, Greece, India, Rome, and China. Cupping horns are considered to be the oldest treatment tools. Cupping was based on the theory of four basic fluids: blood, phlegm, black and yellow bile. Diseases were thought to be caused by an imbalance of these four substances. When talking about the saying in connection with cupping: let's get rid of bad blood!  even the peoples of ancient times knew that with this form of treatment  had effects on our body's fluid balance.

Cupping belongs to the so-called irritation treatments, where the negative pressure developed by the cupping horns and the escaping blood cause stimulation even in the deeper parts of the body.

In the olden days, every village had itinerant cupbearers who were called to the spot when a problem arose. My grandmother was also such a traveling cuppa/weeping woman in Keskipohjanmaa. The folk healers at that time played a big role in maintaining the well-being of the villages, as there were few doctors in the biggest cities. Cupping is performed with completely sterile instruments, suction cups with rubber tips and a hole-making machine. You should reserve about 1.5 hours for cupping.

Cupping has been found to help with muscle tension, headaches, high blood pressure, rashes, tired and sore feet, and a lively metabolism.

Obstacles to cupping are too low hemoglobin, bleeding disease, heart disease, fever, tumors or otherwise weak condition.

When booking an appointment for cupping, you should always honestly tell us about any illnesses and medications you are taking.

BOOK YOUR TIME  AND COME EXPERIENCE THE WONDERFUL EFFECTS OF THE CUP.
